Overview
The Insurance Council of New Zealand Inc was established in 1895.
It is an industry organisation which represents fire and general insurers in this country.
The Insurance Council comprises 20 member companies who write approximately 95% of New Zealand's general insurance business. Our members currently protect approximately half a trillion dollars of New Zealanders assets. Last year members of the Insurance Council paid claims of $1.5 billion to New Zealanders.
